OPTION 1: COLCA TREK 2D/1N (A lovely medium-high level walk)

Day 1: AREQUIPA – SAN MIGUEL – SAN JUAN DE CHUCCHO – OASIS

At 3:00 am, pick up from hotel and depart to Chivay. There we will have breakfast and then we will go to the “Cruz del Condor” where we will see the majestic and fantastic flight of the condors, as well as one of the deepest canyons in the world. Then, we continue for about 20 minutes to the viewpoint of San Miguel where we will have a breathtaking view of the Colca Canyon. Then, we descend by four hours after the first community of San Juan de CHUCCHU (2,200 meters), where he will lunch. Then we continue to the villages of Cosñirhua and MALATA.

We will observe in the way the flora and fauna: typical fruits, medicinal plants, local people still speak the language Quechua (Inca language) and an interesting local museum to learn more about the culture of the Colca Canyon and we can drink the Chicha (beer of the Incas). Then we descend to SANGALLE (OASIS) to 1,160 meters above sea level where we will spend the first night.


Day 2: SANGALLE (OASIS) – CABANACONDE – AREQUIPA

Around 5:00 in the morning we got up to start the way back to the town of Cabanaconde. The approximate time of the rise will be about 3 hours and about 1,200 meters in a vertical line. Arrival and breakfast in Cabanaconde, approx. At 9:30 am we will go to the viewpoints of Antahuilque, Choquetico, the traditional village of Maca. Then we will go to the medicinal thermal baths of “Calera” having a temperature of 38°C (4 km outside the town Chivay), we will stay one hour on site. Later we will return to Chivay. Lunch will be there. Finally, the return to the city of Arequipa, with some stops to see alpacas, vicunas, llamas and Misti, Chachani volcanoes. The arrival to Arequipa will approximately be at 6:00 pm.

OPTION 2: COLCA-YANQUE TOUR 2D/1N (Trekking 4 hours, low level walk)
Day 1: AREQUIPA/ CHIVAY / YANQUE

At 07:30 a.m. Pick you up at your Hotel and departure from Arequipa (2325 m.a.s.l) towards north west direcction behind snow-covered Chachani; we see wild vicuñas, alpacas and llamas in Pampa Cañahuas national reserve, some birds like flamingoes, ibis, andean gooze, ducks, andean eagle "Kara Kara" view point of the Volcanoes and snow covered mountains in Patapampa (4,800 m.a.s.l).

Our next stop is the village of Chivay, (3600 m.a.s.l) capital of Valle del Colca. Then the bus will take us another 10 minutes to the beautiful village of Yanque where you will have the opportunity to enjoy Peruvian local cuisine. This village still retains the tradition of Colca, a quiet place with friendly locals, perfect for those wishing to discover more of the local life of the Colca.

At Hotel in Yanque, you will receive a warm welcome by the hospitable people of this town. In the afternoon your guide will take you on a tour of about 3 -4 hours. On the way you will see typical houses of the Colca, pre-Inca terraces, it is also possible to observe local activities on farms in the Colca, visit the archaeological site of Uyo Uyo.

At the end of the tour you have the option to enjoy and relax in the hot spring located next to the Colca River. He walked another 25 minutes. Return to hotel.


Day 2: YANQUE / CRUZ DEL CONDOR / AREQUIPA

Early morning after breakfast (07:00)leave for a full day excursion in the left shore, beautiful tipical towns, like Achoma and Maca, colonial churches, gently people with tipical needlework dresses, hundreds of pre inca terraces still in use with andean growings like corn, quinua, kiwicha among others. After a 2 hrs drinving we get the most visited point “ the cross of the condor” at this place is possible to watch the flight of the Condors and we are able to see the depth of the canyon. After lunch return to Arequipa . (17:00 hrs. approx. in Arequipa).
